Bayyin: Learn Arabic ("Bayyin", "we", "our", or "us") is an Arabic vocabulary learning app for iOS. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
We are committed to keeping your data minimal, secure, and never sold.
Information We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide the app's features:
- Account information — your name, email address, and encrypted password when you register, or your Google account profile if you sign in with Google.
- Learning progress — which words you have marked as learned, stored against your user ID in our database.
- Quiz activity — lesson completion data used to unlock the Global Quiz feature.
We do not collect payment information, location data, contacts, or any device sensor data.
How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account.
- To sync and display your learning progress across sessions.
- To unlock app features based on your progress (e.g. Global Quiz).
- To improve the app based on aggregated, anonymised usage patterns.
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the app.
Third-Party Services
Bayyin uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

We do not share your personal data with any other third parties.
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored in Google Firebase servers located in the United States (us-central1). Firebase employs industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest.
Access to your learned words data is restricted to your authenticated account only — other users cannot read or write your data.
Data Retention & Deletion
Your account and learning data are retained for as long as your account is active. To request deletion of your account and all associated data, contact us at the email below. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
Children's Privacy
Bayyin is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights including access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
